Your Biggest Weaknesses At Work, Based On Your Zodiac Sign
Have you noticed that there is one part of your job you're constantly struggling with? Are you more of an independent worker and have trouble coming together in a team? Is it difficult for you to stand up for yourself during a review? If you've done any of these things, looking to astrology may help you uncover the reason why. Discovering what your zodiac sign says about your biggest weakness at work allows you to learn more about how you function in your career.
Each sign has specific attributes that affect them differently, and how they play out at work is no exception. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses and, while no one is — or should be expected to be — good at everything, identifying areas where you struggle can go a long way towards understanding how to compensate for them.
It's important to remember that, while your zodiac sign may give you an indication of how you behave and feel, it is by no means a determinant of your life. However, it may be able to guide you into greater discovery about yourself and how you work with others at your job.
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Aries get bored easily, so it makes sense that they may find themselves feeling unfilled at work. "[They] like action, so they get bored with menial tasks and could get caught day dreaming about bigger, better responsibilities in another job," Jaye, an astrologer at Gifted Astrology, tells Bustle.
It makes sense then that Aries tend to lack follow through and won't always finish up their projects, astrologer Linda Furiate, tells Bustle.
Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
A Taurus tends to play it safe, meaning they are less likely to take risks that would be noticed by management, says Jaye. This could lead to them being overlooked for a promotion.
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini are the office gossips and don't mind causing a bit of controversy, says Jaye. This can be a distraction to others and doesn't look great to employers.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
A Cancer may be focused on helping others and discount their own achievements. "[They] are always helping others and could forget to toot their own horn when it comes to asking for that raise," says Jaye.
It's great to support your co-workers but don't be shy to admit your own accomplishments.
Leo (July 23 - Aug. 22)
A Leo tends to expect loyalty from their coworkers the same way they do with friends, says Jaye. Unfortunately, placing this blind trust in the people they work with does not always work out, as they may not feel the same level of loyalty in return.
Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)
A Virgo is known to be independent and that trait definitely carries over into their work. "[A Virgo] wants to implement plans and get it done on their own, but many office structures require teamwork, so they can appear to be bossy or loners," says Jaye.
Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)
Libras sometimes feel like they need to collaborate with others or be patted on the back for their work. "Sometimes they may lack self-confidence if they are not getting feedback from another," Furiate says.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21)
Scorpios sometimes focus on the analytical side of their work, forgetting about the human aspect of projects and diving too deeply into the data, says Jaye.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)
"[A Sagittarius] is the office social butterfly, constantly roaming around the office to see what everyone else is doing," says Jaye. While being friendly is great, distracting others from doing their work can be a problem.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)
Capricorns may be a bit too dedicated to their work. "They are the workaholics of the zodiac," says Furiate. "[They] will work hard till the job is done. They may be too perfectionist and may beat up on themselves for not be good enough."
Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)
At work, an Aquarius may avoid getting too personal with colleagues. "[This] can be interpreted by coworkers as detached or unapproachable," says Jaye.
Pisces (Feb. 19 - March 20)
"With two sides to their professional personality, Pisces can really polarize people — coworkers will see them as warm and fuzzy or as cold as ice," Jaye says. "It all depends how their coworkers have treated them."
While your sign may give you an indication of how you are in a work setting, it is not a guarantee in any way. Just keep working hard, communicating with your coworkers, and proving your worth. We all have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to our job, but in no way do they define us.
