Why You Should Be Rooting For This Wild Theory About Kylie & Kim Kardashian's Surrogate
Ever since the rumor started in September 2017 that Kylie Jenner was pregnant, many fans have fervently believed one thing: that Jenner is Kim Kardashian's surrogate. Fans of the family have long been aware that Kardashian is having her third baby via surrogate, after complications with her first two pregnancies. She confirmed the news in a Keeping Up With The Kardashians trailer from September, even though the unofficial story had been making its rounds on the internet since before June. Her confirmation also came six days after TMZ broke the news of Jenner's rumored pregnancy, which tied them together in many people's mind. The thing is, if Jenner really is Kardashian's surrogate, that would give their relationship a whole new, and totally sweet, level of depth.
Even on KUWTK, Kardashian has been very clear about wanting to respect her surrogate's privacy, even though she's been open about the process of surrogacy and the toll that it takes. "I definitely want to keep it private…" she said on the show. "I don’t want people to find my surrogate… I don’t want people following her and chasing her." If her surrogate is Jenner, then Kardashian's commitment to protecting Jenner's privacy would not only make perfect sense, but also be a beautiful show of family loyalty. After all, according to US Weekly sources, Jenner reportedly hasn't confirmed her pregnancy because,
"She’s very happy about the pregnancy but she doesn’t want to share this with the world. Her not being out is strictly personal preference. She wants to keep this one aspect of her life private."
Who's better than keeping secrets than the Kardashian-Jenner family? And who would protect your privacy with greater passion than your sister? Jenner being Kardashian's surrogate would mean that the last few months of secrets and teases was all coming from a place of love and loyalty and explain for fans in the best way why the usually open Kardashian is really so fiercely private about her surrogate's identity.
And it goes without saying that Jenner being Kardashian's surrogate would be an incredible show of love from Jenner to Kardashian, too. After all, the 37-year-old has spoken frequently about wanting to have a big family (three at least, but not as many as six!), and the decision to have a surrogate was a difficult, if necessary, one for her. Kardashian has revealed, on the show and on social media, her struggles with a disease called placenta accreta, which is when the placenta buries itself into the uterine wall. Her medical issues are so bad, in fact, that her preeclampsia (characterized by high blood pressure and, in severe cases, organ damage) resulted in her having to deliver North six weeks early.
"I go to all the doctor’s appointments and I try to be really present, but when you’re not carrying it yourself it is such a fine balance of how much you’re going to be in their lives," she said of her surrogate in December 2017. "Of course, I want to know ever last detail that’s going on with my baby and that’s super frustrating, but I really trust my surrogate and I don’t want to be that person that’s trying to control her every move."
If her surrogate is Jenner (and there have been many, many rumors about who exactly the woman is, of which Jenner is only one option), the fact that Jenner has been more quiet on social media than ever before in the months since TMZ claimed that she was pregnant could be a sign. It could mean that the sisters are spending more time together than usual as they go through this process together. (Khloé included, of course.)
And if that's true — heck, if Jenner's pregnancy is a real thing at all — then that bonding experience between the sisters would be the most beautiful part of all of this.
