6 Celeb Stories We Wish Were April Fools' Jokes
April Fools' Day is one of the most terrifying days of the year, at least for me. I am way too naive and trusting, and pretty much everyone knows this. People expect me to be gullible and fall for just about everything. This is why I always try to have as little human contact as possible on April Fools' Day. And in this day and age, my shut in status has transcended from real life to the Internet. What I mean is, I get way too invested in celebrity news, so I'm pretty wary of anything that's published on April 1.
I am trying my best not to fall for outrageous headlines or open up suspicious photos, but on the other side of things, I have a little bit of hope on April Fools' Day. There are plenty of recent stories that I really hope will be revealed as jokes. Can you imagine if Zayn Malik, was all, "Just kidding. I'll back on tour with One Direction tomorrow?" It would be great if Malik and so many other celebs could just take back the things they've said and done by chalking it all up to a holiday prank. I doubt this would ever actually happen, but if it did, here's what I would want to hear.
Zayn Malik Returns To One Direction
I still cannot believe that Malik quit One Direction in the midst of a world tour. At first, I felt bad when he cited stress in the spotlight. Then that new solo song was released and I was weirdly offended. If Malik just wanted to go solo he should have said so. And in my opinion, he should have at least stuck to his commitment to One Direction's current concert tour. It would be great if Malik pulled off the most elaborate April Fools' joke of all time and Instagrammed a selfie of himself and the boys at a One Direction rehearsal on April 1.
Empire Season 1 Has More Episodes
I was obsessed with watching Empire this winter. I could not get enough of the salacious plot twists, Cookie's one-liners, and the amazing soundtrack. So why did it have to end in March? Season 1 started in January and only had 12 episodes. It would have been great if the first season extended into the summer or at least ended in May like most TV shows. Given Empire's crazy season finale, there's zero chance of the show picking up until Season 2 — but it seriously needs to come back.
Iggy Azalea Rejoins Social Media
I was a huge fan of Iggy Azalea's when she first broke out with her single "Fancy." Then things started to get a little crazy for the rapper when she had one social media feud after another. Azalea battled Snoop Dogg, Azealia Banks, and even the pizza chain Papa John's. After months of controversy, the singer announced that she was abandoning social media and postponed her concert tour. For a controversial new artist like Iggy Azalea, I feel like having a connection with her fans is pretty critical. She should say she was "just kidding" and return to Instagram with some new photos or a funny meme — just something to reconnect with her fan base.
Justin Bieber Stops His Apology Tour
Don't get me wrong, on some level I think it's great for Justin Bieber to admit to his poor behavior and apologize for upsetting his fans. Still, I'm tired of hearing about it all the time. Stop talking about being different and actually just be different. He doesn't need to take back the good behavior, but if he comes out and says the extent of his apology tour was supposed to be a joke, then that would work. I mean, he was only Ellen DeGeneres' show several weeks in a row AND had a roast. I accept his apology, but I'm ready to move on.
Rihanna Was Joking When She Denied Dating Leonardo DiCaprio
This would be too good. Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio would be the most random match ever. Sure they are both players who love partying and wearing their hair in a bun, but other than that it's just so odd. Rihanna recently denied the dating rumors by citing her busy schedule: "I’m so busy right now that I just don’t have a lot of time to offer to a man so it wouldn’t even be fair to be thinking of pulling somebody else into this life. But if I did, he would have to be man enough to live with my schedule and not get scared." I just wish that she took this back and announced that the two of them were actually dating.
Rob Takes Back His Gone Girl Instagram Post About Kim
I still don't even understand why Rob Kardashian compared Kim Kardashian to Amy from Gone Girl in the first place. Other than Kim Kardashian having short blonde hair at the time, I'm not really seeing the similarities between her and Rosamund Pike's psycho character. He should just put up a nice throwback photo of himself and his sister so he can pull the "just kidding" card in regard to this totally random and off base Gone Girl comparison.
It would be great if all the news stories that annoy me could be undone with a simple "Just kidding. Happy April Fool's Day!" Sadly, I really doubt any of these things are going to happen, but it would be so cool if they did.
