Dominique Norman

Dominique (she/they) is a Fashion Writer for Bustle. Their work as a writer and educator has explored the intersections of race, gender, body, sexuality, and their relationship to fashion, media, and beauty. She has written for V Magazine, the Observer, Refinery29, Essence, HelloGiggles, and more.

Dominique has a BA in Fashion Design and Merchandising from Washington State University, an MA in Fashion Studies, and a certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies from Parsons School of Design. She designed the first plus-size collection at her undergrad university and wrote the first academic research on Afropunk subculture as a grad student. She advocates for inclusive fashion education via her side hustle as a professor of fashion culture and media, recently developing a course called “Inclusion in Fashion” for LIM College.
