El Hunt

El Hunt is a freelance journalist and contributor to Bustle, writing about music, film, arts, and LGBTQ+ history and culture. She loves a pop banger almost as much as Rihanna loves her Sainsbury’s bag for life, and her most treasured possession is a signed photograph of scene-stealing “bubbly’s in the fridge!!” actor Zöe Lucker (EastEnders, Footballers’ Wives)

After studying English at Goldsmiths, El first cut her teeth in music journalism at DIY – interviewing artists like Grimes, Haim and St. Vincent along the way, and battling knee-deep puddles of mud to bring readers coverage of festivals around the world. After accidentally predicting a guest appearance from Dido at Reading 2013, she later became the magazine’s Features Editor.

Nowadays El is a writer for The Guardian, BBC, Cosmopolitan, VICE, Time Out London, and more – and is also former Staff Writer at NME
