12 Celebrity Pairs Who Fought & Made Up

by Jamie Primeau

With so many different personalities, things are bound to get heated in Hollywood. And as soon as any two celebrities start a feud, fans immediately pick sides. (Remember the Team Jen vs. Team Angelina debate of the mid-2000s?) Luckily, some beefs get squashed. There are plenty of celebrities who decide to publicly bury the hatchet and play nice. One of the best examples in recent memory is Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian. Despite some drama in the past, these two women rose above it. It's especially awesome that with a single selfie, they shut down any rumors and reminded the world they wouldn't let the men in their lives get in the way of forming a friendship.

Rose and Kardashian aren't the only two to move forward from a feud. Thank goodness! It's almost like You know, like that memorable quote from Mean Girls where that girl who "doesn't even go here" takes the stage to declare, "I wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school. I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy." Hollywood would be a much better place if everyone had that random Mean Girls character's mentality.

Here's a round-up of the most memorable examples of celebrities who have fought and made up.

1. Nicki Minaj & Taylor Swift

At the 2015 VMAs, these two performed together. This was significant, since things got a bit heated on Twitter before the award show. However, this "feud" was more like a huge misunderstanding. When Nicki Minaj called out the fact the lack of diversity among nominees, Swift got on the defensive and thought she was being attacked. (She was totally wrong, though.)

This led to quite an exchange, which wrapped itself up nicely with a hug and performance at the VMAs. Phew! Glad that one is all settled.

2. Avril Lavigne & Taylor Swift

Another Swift-related tiff! Avril Lavigne called out the "22" singer after she shared a photo from Tumblr that seemed to imply Lavigne isn't as close with her fans — quite literally, actually. It was two side-by-side photos, showing Lavigne's fans standing far away from her, while Swift is giving a young kid a hug. The "Sk8er Boi" singer wasn't having it and tweeted, "Comparison is judging and judging a person does not define who they are it defines who you are. We all Love our fans."

Luckily, this got resolved with a performance too. Lavigne became one of the many guest stars at the 1989 World Tour, joining Swift on stage and letting go of the past.

3. Ariana Grande & Victoria Justice

Around Christmastime, the Victorious cast had a reunion involving onesies and watching old episodes of their show. Victoria Justice shared a group shot with a caption that said,

Onesie party with a few of my old frands. We're such dorks, we sat around drinking wine & eating cookies watching Victorious episodes & reminiscing. Very grateful for that time of my life.

This is significant since there previously was beef between Justice and Ariana Grande, involving accusations over who was responsible for the show coming to an end. The tweets have since been deleted, but Grande reportedly wrote, "Sweetheart the only reason Victorious ended is because 1 girl didn't want to do it. She chose to do a solo tour instead of a cast tour." In response, Justice tweeted, "Some people would throw some1 they consider a friend under the bus just 2 make themselves look good. #StopBeingAPhony #IfTheyOnlyKnew" Yikes!

Based on the above photo, I'm going to have to quote Adele and say it looks like it's "all water under the bridge."

4. Seth Rogen & Justin Bieber

In a 2015 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Seth Rogen talked about his beef with Biebs. The Knocked Up star said, "We had a beef, I guess you would say. I don’t know if that’s the word the kids use. It’s not really a beef — I just called him some really mean things on social media for no real reason. And I only met him very briefly." Rogen totally owned up to his actions and admitted he didn't even know why he said those things in the first place. According to Page Six, Rogen had written, "All jokes aside, Justin Bieber is a piece of sh*t" on Twitter in 2014.

Serving as the peacekeeper, DeGeneres then brought Bieber on stage. The "Sorry" singer wore a giant Seth Rogen mask and then the two hugged it out and made amends. Very meta, but very heartwarming!

5. Ja Rule & 50 Cent

Now there are two names you probably haven't thought about since the early '00s. But according to Ja Rule, his feud with 50 Cent is ancient history. In November 2015, he told Us Weekly,

I mean, on my end it’s over. I don’t think about it at all. It’s 10 — how old is it? — 15 years old?

He also added that if they were to officially make up, perhaps they'd go rollerskating. As a refresher, these two are believed to have first feuded in 2000. According to Paper Magazine, 50 Cent claimed he was stabbed by the founder of Ja Rule's Murder Inc. record label, but those charges were later dropped. In a 2003 track, Ja Rule also dissed 50 Cent, saying, "I’ll probably go to jail fo’ sending 50 to hell."

6. Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie

Nothing was more upsetting for Simple Life fans than the period of time that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie weren't BFFs. They even filmed an entire season of the show separate, where they'd take turn visiting different houses. As for what happened between these two, Hilton released a statement in 2015 about Richie. According to People, she said, "It's no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that's all I'm ever going to say about it." Quite cryptic, huh?

The two came back together in 2006 to film The Simple Life Goes To Camp . Although they may not be as close as they once were, in a 2014 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Richie spoke highly of Hilton and said, "I haven’t spoken to her in a while, but we are very good friends. I love her and I love her family. I have a lot of respect for her."

7. Chris Brown & Drake

The longstanding Chris Brown and Drake beef was believed to be centered around Rihanna. Both men pursued the "Work" singer, but she dated Brown in 2012. In June of that year, a bar fight even erupted between their entourages.

Still, these two rose above the drama. They proved that they were OK when Drake hosted the ESPYs in 2014 and Brown appeared in a skit. From that point forward, it was clear that there was no bad blood anymore.

8. Kim Kardashian & Katie Couric

This may be the most random pairing of all. In 2013, Kim Kardashian called out Katie Couric after the talk show host made a comment about not knowing why the Kardashians were famous. Kardashian then shared a photo of PJs that Couric sent as a gift for North, writing, "#IHateFakeMediaFriends" and "#MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkShit".

Luckily, Couric and Kardashian made amends and celebrated the 4th of July together in the Hamptons in 2014. With that, the fight became ancient history.

9. Taylor Swift & Kanye West

Is it just me or are you sensing a pattern on this list? This is the third time Swift is mentioned, but I suppose that just means she has a history of burying the hatchet. At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West and Swift reunited and she even introduced him on stage. It was far better than that time West grabbed the mic and stole Swift's thunder six years earlier.

Unfortunately, that triumphant moment may have been short-lived. On his The Life Of Pablo track "Famous," West dissed Swift (although he claimed otherwise). So, these two probably won't be getting matching BFF necklaces anytime soon.

10. Taylor Swift & Lorde

Nowadays, it's no secret that Taylor Swift and Lorde are besties. But it wasn't always that way. in 2013, Lorde told Metro Magazine, "Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don't think it's breeding anything good in young girls [who might think] 'I'm never going to be like Taylor Swift, why can't I be as pretty as Lorde?' That's f*cking bullsh*t."

The "Royals" singer later clarified the comment, and luckily the two were able to put it behind them. In a 2014 Rolling Stone interview, Lorde said Swift was so sweet when they met. Lorde recalled, "She was like, 'It's fine. If all you've done is call someone perfect, it's not that bad.'" And now? These two couldn't be closer, so a slight comment taken out of context led to an awesome friendship.

11. Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato

These Disney stars both became friends when they got their start on Barney. Although they starred in Princess Protection Program together, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato seemingly grew apart in 2014. At the time, Lovato unfollowed Gomez on Twitter and fans couldn't believe it. The "Heart Attack" singer said in an interview at the time, "I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart."

But before your heart breaks, the two posed for a goofy selfie together in the summer of 2015 and all was well. Lovato captioned the photo, "Look at how #coolforthesummer we are.. Friends for years, #sameoldlove." See? These two can make it through anything.

12. Amber Rose & Kim Kardashian

As mentioned earlier, this is one of the most epic make-ups on the list, Rose and Kardashian posed for a selfie together and officially put the past in the past. The men in their lives — Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West — got in a public Twitter feud, which someone dragged the ladies into the equation. Plus, Amber Rose is BFFs with Blac Chyna and had previously dissed Kardashian's little sis, Kylie Jenner. (In case that's a lot to follow, consult this handy timeline.)

After all that drama, Rose admitted in an interview that she and Kardashian text all the time. Whether these two were actually the enemies the public made them out to be is unclear. But one thing is for sure, it's all good now.

After all of that, don't you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? I know I sure do.
