Matt Lauer + Inappropriate Sexual Behavior
This morning, the Today show opened with host Savannah Guthrie announcing that cohost Matt Lauer was fired from NBC for "inappropriate sexual behavior". The statement Guthrie read on air was sent to NBC staff from the company's chairman, Andy Lacks.
ICYMI: Garrison Keillor, former host of A Prairie Home Companion is being accused of improper conduct and has been fired from Minnesota Public Radio. Also today, Supergirl and The Flash showrunner Andrew Kreisberg was fired in light of sexual harassment allegations made against him.
Trump + Islamophobic Tweets
Another day, another string of controversial tweets from Donald Trump. The president kicked off Wednesday by retweeting several anti-Muslim videos. These tweets were originally shared on Twitter by Jayda Fransen, who's a leader of an extremely far-right group, Britain First. In 2016 Fransen was fined £2,000 for "religiously aggravated harassment" after she harassed a Muslim woman.
WTF: Sophie the robot, who was the first robot in history to be granted citizenship, just gave an interview with the Khaleej Times, and, well, let's just say it's gonna freak you out. In the interview, Sophie talks about how both humans AND robots deserve families. Yep, the future is freakin' scary!
Avengers: Infinity War + Trailer
Marvel dropped the first trailer for the latest Avengers movie, Avengers: Infinity War, and let me tell you, fans went NUTS. When you watch it, you'll totally understand why. The film features pretty much every beloved character from the franchise. Yeah, its gonna be huge.
The Avengers: Infinity War is slated for release in May 2018. Though that's a while away, we've already got fan theories about how Spider-Man will be involved, and a host of hilarious memes and tweets to keep you occupied until the premiere. Enjoy!

Mulan + Casting
It's been a big day for Disney — the company just announced who will be playing the lead role in the live-action Mulan movie. After a year of searching high and low, they've landed on Chinese actress Liu Yifei to star as the iconic heroine. Over the last few months, Disney has made some serious headway on casting their upcoming films, including Aladdin and The Lion King.
