Bustle's Editors On Lena Waithe + iOS 11

by Melissa Mills

Bad news: It's only Tuesday. Good news: We're three days away from the official start of fall and, thus, you can fully commit to the pumpkin-spiced, apple-craving, Halloween-loving mania that's about to kick into full gear. For those of you who have been sipping on a PSL since Sept. 5 and already have your Halloween costume picked out: Keep doing you. For those of you still in summer withdrawal: I'm so sorry, but here's a little help to get in the mood.

But, before you go into a deep autumn spiral, here's what Bustle's editors were talking about today, Sept. 19:

Trump + The UN

On Tuesday Donald Trump addressed the international community at the United Nations for 40 minutes to talk about foreign policy. Trump really laid out his "America First" approach to the group, and you can read the entire transcript right here. One insane moment of the address included Trump referring to North Korea's Kim Jong Un as "Rocket Man", and critics are upset that Trump is acting so nonchalant about the threat of nuclear war. So, yeah, the UN address went exactly like you were imagining it would. Though, to be fair, at least one person thought Trump did a great job. You can decide for yourself.

Is It Too Late Now To Say Sorry? The Late Late Show host James Corden apologized for kissing former White House press secretary Sean Spicer in his monologue Monday night amid disappointment from many viewers, just one day post-Emmys.

iOS 11 + You

So you watched Apple's keynote last week, did your research on its new product offerings, and preordered your new iPhone 8 (or, like many, decided to hold off until the iPhone X is available in October) — now what? Pause what you're doing and update your iPhone to iOS 11 right now. The new operating system, out today, is a real game changer for Apple fanatics, and that's why we've compiled the best iOS 11 features, hacks, and ~hidden features~ for you to become a pro ASAP. You're welcome in advance.

Instagram Update: You can FINALLY search who's following you on Instagram with this spiffy new Instagram update.

Lena Waithe + Emmys

ICYMI: Master of None star Lena Waithe became the first black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a comedy series (for the standout episode "Thanksgiving" that, if you haven't seen yet, you must watch ASAP) and her speech was unbelievably moving, to say the least. And, while Waithe's win was historic, she's more concerned with not being the last woman or woman of color to get a big win.

Waithe told Bustle, “At the end of the day, a first is fine, but you don’t want to be the last. I just hope that I can inspire someone to follow that dream and tell their story and be just as victorious as I am." PREACH.

Game of Thrones Withdrawal? Emilia Clarke just got the best Daenerys makeover for Game of Thrones Season 8 and it might make the pain of GoT being over for a while sting just a little less.

Netflix + October

We're one day away from the release of the full list of what's coming to Netflix in October but, until then, we've been blessed with a sneak peek. Turns out that one of your favorite 2000s movies will be available on Netflix next month and we can hardly wait. Get ready to watch one of your favorite rom coms very, very soon.

Video of the Day: What happens when you're living with a tricky roommate in the middle of a zombie apocalypse? See for yourself right here.

Today's WTF Moment: The message on this condom wrapper will legitimately horrify you. Seriously, how did this even happen?!

What to Watch: If you, like me, love all things Bravo then you have to tune in to Below Deck at 9 and Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky at 10.
